"Holy Smokes!" I hear you say, wondering what could have caused me to disrupt the Swiss clock-like precision of this site and post an update Four Days Early?...... Well, I'll tell ya....
First of all, I'm thrilled to lead off with the news that Decoder Ring Theatre has made the shortlist for the . The Parsecs are a juried award honouring achievement in Science Fiction and Speculative Fantasy Podcasting, and we've been shortlisted for Best Audio Drama (Short Form)!
But wait, you say... great news, but since the winners won't be announced 'till September, couldn't it have waited for our regularly scheduled update? True. But I found out this morning that we've also been shortlisted for the , and my friends, we need your help on this one. The Podcast Awards are a sort of People's Choice of Podcastsing, and we pulled enough votes in the nomination process to make the final five in the Cultural/Arts category! A big thank you to all those of you who got us this far! Now the carnage begins in earnest. Voting opens this Friday July 28th and continues until August 11th. You can find the full rules , but the jist of it is:
(1) You can vote once a day
(2) Please do.
(3) They'll send a verification e-mail with each vote, without which the vote will not count.
Obviously, we're thrilled and delighted to have made both of these shortlists, and we'll keep you updated... If you do have the time and inclination to put a shoulder to the wheel for us with a vote or two or fifteen, well we'd sure think you were swell. -GT
